What is Aman rice

• One of the seasonal rice in Bangladesh
• Planting & harvesting time: Mid june & mid October
• Types of Aman rice: Transplant & Broadcast

                        Transplant Aman/ Ropa aman: Aman seeds are firstly sown in seed bed.
                                             30-35 days seedlings are sown in the main field.
                                                        
                         Broadcast Aman/Nabi aman:

• Average plant height:150-160 cm
• Rice seed set on the plants/Seed appearing time: after 140-160 days of transplanting
• Av. production: 3-3.9 ton/hectare
• Some statistics: 102.19 metric tons of total 125.55 mt (Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics,2006)
